He bagged his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in History from the University of Ibadan between 2003 and 2015, emerging as the best Graduating Student at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He was decorated with the Oba Lipede Prize, Sir James Robertson Prize, Irvin and Bonnar Prize, among others. Since 2011, Dr Ajayi has been teaching history at the University of Ibadan. He has published both locally and internationally. The focus of his scholarship is Legal and Social History. He is the departmental examination officer.
